      Hello to everyone!

We have identified some weird links that are pointing to our site and we are not sure if they are considered malicious backlinks and we should disavow them. Most of them are directories of websites, the most common one is called "Top million domains by alexa" (you can see an example here: www.besafe.in/domain-list-237).

Have you ever seen these kind of links before? Are they causing harm to our site?

      Thank you so much!

I've seen these types of links before. They can potentially harm your site's SEO if they're from low-quality directories. Using Google Search Console to disavow them might be a good idea. One of my project was facing the similar issue.

you most definitely don't want any spam backlinks, these can damage your seo, before you even buy a domain name, do check that there is no spam back links leading to your website, because sometimes a previous owner might have built spam links. Then once you got rid of the spam links build only high-quality links

            Hi

I agree with Noozle. If the toxic links represent a small percentage of the total number of links, it should not be a problem. If you can get those links that point to your website removed, it will always be positive

            regards

It's probably not hurting you especially if it's only a small percentage of a solid backlink portfolio.  But it's also not helping at all.

To be safe, we suggest disavowing the one you shared and any similar ones since Moz gave it a spam score of 69%.

Do the links from top websites' forums boost in-terms of backlinks?

If we get any backlinks from discussions/forums of top websites like wordpress and joomla forums; do they count as valid and authority improving backlinks? I mean about the dofollow links.

Lost backlinks following switch from http to https

I have a client who appears to have taken a big hit in a few areas recently: MOZ Domain Authority has dropped from 16 to 1 In ahrefs, their http version has 103 backlinks from 46 referring domains, but the https version shows 'no data' for backlinks or referring domains Their 'average position' in SERPs has fallen from around 32 to 43 in the last six weeks Ininitally, I thought this might be due to the MOZ indexing problems last month. However, I now suspect this is connected to their switch from http to https, which occured in mid December. Although all the http pages appear to be redirecting, it looks like the backlinks are not being associated to their https version. Anyone had experience of this and/or now how to remedy?

                Spam backlinks

Hi there, through Open Site Explorer I've found 5838 links (across 1458 domains) with the anchor text 'new porn' pointing to a site I manage. Someone's been busy! Most (99.5%) appear to be created as Pingbacks with rel="nofollow" on them. As a precaution I submitted a file through the Google Disavow tool which has had the status "You successfully uploaded a disavow links file" for the last month. I'm wondering whether I should be concerned, or whether Google and other search engines will be clever enough to know this site is about electricity and not scantily clad people?

Can image links help improve my backlinking profile?

I recently spent some time looking at the backlink profile of a leading UK food & clothing retailer and noticed that a high number of their backlinks for very competitive search phrase's consisted entirely of image backlinks. 50% of the links contained no alt text and other 50% contained a mix of just the targeted keyword or a phase containig one mention of the targeted keyword. Has anyone had any experiance of this type of marketing producing any positive effect on SEO or search engine rankings?

                Weird backlinks

Using SiteExplorer we managed to find a large number of weird polish sites ranking to our site. http://www.opensiteexplorer.org/domains.html?page=6&scope=domain_to_page&site=www.meresverige.dk&sort=domain_authority&target=page Actually most of them does not on purpose link to our site. They seem to be scraping content from wikipedia articles and our link happens to be in the article about Sweden. A typical links looks like this http://www.xn--wiey-katalog-mlc97b.kepno.pl/kalmarunionen.php?title=Sverige Today we took a HUGE drop in rankings and I had some suggestions that these polish links might have something to do with it. Any ideas how to solve this? Anyone seen anything similar before? Thanks in advance and have a great day Fredrik My site can be found at: http://www.meresverige.dk/

                Backlinks According to Google

Good Morning, Google has just recognized some links going to my site. I used a seo toolbar downloaded from firefox that informed me of the Links according to Google. My question is that them links have been there for ages and Google has only just recognized them. Is there a reason for this? Does Google  only show links quarterly or half yearly? Thanks SEO_123

First of 183 million with 6 backlinks

Hello Everyone, I am from Hungary and i'd like to ask about a Hungarian site: www.viagra.info.hu. (do not need to speak Hungarian to be able to answer) If you type viagra in google.hu this is the first page of 183 million (not bad) with a wonderful number of 6 backlinks, coming before wikipedia and 70000 backlink sites. Additional info: site is one year old:) I can not discover the black hat but surely there is. Any idea? My other question is how they are doing that when looking from the serps below their description tag there are 3 links (their menus) that are not sitelinks? Someone please help me
